The following writing is a review of this week's Sunday Morning Message

Healing Faith

Luke 8:46-48

The statement, “Thy faith hath made thee whole”, is found verbatim five times in Scripture. Jesus expected those whom he healed to have faith that he could heal them. Jesus healed the man sick with the palsy because he saw the faith of his friends who broke open the roof to let him down. He healed the centurion’s servant because of the great faith of the centurion. He healed the man by the pool of Bethesda because the man had the faith to get up and try to walk. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead because of the faith of Martha in Jesus as the Son of God. Faith has always been an instrumental part of the Lord’s healing hand.

Here we have a story of a woman who had a physical ailment that she had sought to be whole of now for twelve years. She believed that if she could just touch the garment of Christ she would be healed, and she was. Christ discovered her and told her that her faith had made her whole.

I wonder how many of us have areas in our life or in our body that need to be made whole. Do we have the faith that invokes the mighty hand of God to move on our behalf. God expects you and I to have faith. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

What is faith? The Scriptures define this for us as well. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) Faith is believing in what we cannot see. God expects us to believe in Him although we cannot see Him. We see evidence of His existence, but we cannot see him, therefore we must have faith. Do you believe in God today? Do you have faith?

Not only does God want us to have faith in Who He is, but He wants us to have faith in what He can do. He wants to heal us where we are wanting. He wants to make us whole, but we have to believe that He can do it.

There are times that we go through afflictions as a part of God’s plan. It is hard for is to understand that. Also healing does not always come immediately because we have faith today. The Scriptures say, “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” (James 1:3) Healing must take place in God’s timing and will. However, there are four things that we must have faith that He can heal in our lives.

If we put our faith and trust in Jesus as our Saviour He can heal our soul. He can cleanse us and give us salvation by His grace.

Prophecy of Christ’s coming stated, “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings…” (Malachi 4:2) Jesus will heal your soul if you will have faith in Him.

Everyone finds themselves in unpleasant situations from time to time. These may stem from finances, or relationship issues, or poor decisions. Whatever the circumstances we all have situations at times. Jesus is still on the throne and we must have faith that He can and will take care of the situations that we face. We may be surprised, but God is never surprised and He will take care of it. “The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.” (Proverbs 16:33)

He can give you the right attitude and outlook on life. Christians often become sick in their spirit and they need healing. They could find healing in Christ for their spirit if they simply had faith that He could and would ask Him. “…yet ye have not, because ye ask not.” (James 4:2)

We need to have faith that the Lord can make us whole in our bodies as well. “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” (James 5:15)

Far too often we fail to have the faith we need to have the healing hand of the Lord work in our life. We cannot blame God for this, it is our own lack of faith that hinders our healing.

Another great Sunday at Lincoln Baptist Church with a total attendance of 129 in the morning service. We were able to see 8 precious souls saved. Congratulations to Colin, who followed the Lord in baptism this week, after having trusted Christ as his Saviour last week!

Below you will find two maps of the marathon course for this upcoming Sunday.
